Monday
A rainy miserable day, when most sensible people with the option to do so would have opted to stay at home, we had 34 uke enthusiasts waiting anxiously to play what turned out to be a selection of most joyous and happy songs.
Most people liked the songs that had been selected to see of Tony Davies (Southport England)
The Performance Medley is far from finalised. Some thought yesterday that some of the songs in Tony’s Medley would be great as performance songs. This is probably true. There are many great songs. I have expanded the List and open to suggestions.
On Wednesday I am running a short workshop for anyone who is beginning their Uke Journey, or wants some individual tuition. I think what we do when we ask beginners to simply join the herd seems to work. I admit, however, that it would be nicer to sit with beginners and help them over some of the hurdles we all had to face. You will eventually work out how some things we do naturally when playing the uke do occur. If I’m not distracted by having to lead a whole group of players, we should be able to sort some of these things out fairly quickly,
You are all welcome to come to Encircle on Lamington Drive from 12:45pm on Wednesday for then 1:00 – 2:00pm session.
Kingaroy
We have been unable to attract any interest from Kingaroy, so Marie is investigating another possible tour venue. Watch this space.
Next Monday
Today we visit TWO Aged Care Facilities, one at Rothwell, and the second at Deception Bay.
What to Wear
Please wear full SUPers kit, including hat, UNLESS you have a St Pat’s/Irish hat or trimmings that you’d like to wear aka Jo and Marie’s get up on Monday.
The St Patrick’s Day Medley has some lovely songs and is now finalised for next week’s Concerts.
Nighttime Performances
A number of us have expressed an interest in practising or performing somewhere of an evening (say a Wednesday or a Thursday evening). If anyone has a contact (restaurant, pub, cafe etc) that might accommodate us, please let me know.
Are you ready to share your passion for music with fellow ukulele enthusiasts? Join us for our regular meetups where we play, learn, and enjoy the fun of strumming together! Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced player, everyone is welcome. Let’s create beautiful music and lasting memories together! Details on our Contacts Page.
